Making the best of construction

As we began to prepare for the refurbishment of our dining rooms on the Mead Campus, a large part of the existing dining room needed to be closed off to the rest of the community space.

As the large white barrier wall began to be constructed, RiverMead Resident, Nancy Taylor, enlisted resident artist Karin Wells to design and implement a plan to paint a mural on the big white wall and let any resident that wanted to participate have the opportunity to join in.

Well that was a few months ago, and you can see the mural result below in a picture that was taken by resident photographer, Charles Clark.

It was an interesting process to watch, each resident adding their own idea, touch, sense of humor and expertise to the process.

The wall will come down in a few short weeks, revealing our new dining area, bistro, and hearth room. The panoramic picture of the mural will be framed and hung in an area for all to enjoy.

Welcome to RiverMead Charlotte & Lee DeBell!
